Microsoft Unveils Global Network of Hidden North Korean “IT Specialists”

27.11.2024

At the CYBERWARCON conference, Microsoft detailed how these “agents” steal personal data, fabricate resumes, and use artificial intelligence tools to manipulate documents and photos during job applications. They may also experiment with voice-changing technologies to avoid detection during interviews.

Thousands of such agents have infiltrated the global job market, aided by “third parties” that provide fake bank accounts, mobile services, and access to job markets.

Microsoft warns that North Korea’s operations are evolving, and future campaigns are likely to use even more advanced AI tools.
