The music streaming platform Apple Music has named singer Billie Eilish as the Artist of the Year 2024, making her the first musician to receive this title twice.
Apple Music noted that this year, Eilish received her second Oscar and two “Grammy” awards for the soundtrack “What Was I Made For” from Greta Gerwig’s film “Barbie.” Additionally, this summer she released her third studio album titled “Hit Me Hard and Soft,” which topped the Apple Music charts in 138 countries upon release.
Another achievement for Eilish was her performance at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games, which also took place in Los Angeles. During the ceremony, she performed the song “Birds of a Feather,” which garnered the most listens on Shazam.
Billie also teamed up with Charli XCX for “Guess,” one of the summer 2024 hits, which currently leads the sold-out “Hit Me Hard and Soft” tour, extending her triumphant year into 2025.
