Why Installing the Android Developer Beta is a Bad Idea if You’re an Ordinary User

30.11.2024

These builds are raw, full of bugs, and often unstable. For example, your phone might suddenly reboot, apps might crash, and features like mobile payments might simply not work.

Beta versions are created for testing applications, not for everyday use.

Even developers themselves install them on test devices or use emulators to avoid risking their work phones.

If you want to try the new Android before others, wait for the public beta. It is generally more stable and better suited for experimentation. For example, Android 16 Beta 1 will be available in January 2025. But even these versions are far from perfect.
