In Turkmenistan, an international experts’ meeting will be held from December 6 to 7

From December 6 to 7, 2024, a Regional Meeting of International Experts on the inclusion of the Caspian branch of the Great Silk Road in the UNESCO World Heritage List will be held in Turkmenistan. Vice Prime Minister Mährijemal Mämmedova informed President Serdar Berdimuhamedow about the preparations for the event at a government meeting on November 29.

The Vice Prime Minister stated that representatives of international and regional organizations, as well as foreign research centers, will arrive in Ashgabat to participate in the meeting. There will be discussions on the integration of modern technologies with the processes of researching and managing heritage sites, the preparation of an Atlas of maps, and the collection of graphic materials on the objects of the Caspian-Volga corridor of the Silk Road. The event will be organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO Affairs.

The head of state emphasized that Turkmenistan actively cooperates with the UN and its structures in matters of preserving the country’s historical and natural monuments. In this regard, Serdar Berdimuhamedow instructed Mährijemal Mämmedova to hold the upcoming meeting at a high level.
