Tim Cook didn’t like Intel as far back as 2011

Initially, Apple purchased chips from Samsung and Intel, but faced issues with quality and power. By 2014, TSMC became the exclusive supplier for Apple, starting with the A8 processor for the iPhone 6.

In his autobiography, Chang detailed a key meeting with Cook, conducted by Apple’s Chief Operating Officer Jeff Williams. Terry Gou, the founder of Foxconn, played a significant role in introducing Chang to Apple’s leadership.

Interestingly, Intel’s problems opened the door for TSMC, which now dominates the global semiconductor industry.
