On December 3, Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov held a meeting in Mashhad with the Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), Asad Majid Khan. The parties reviewed the republic’s initiatives in the fields of tourism and transport.
Ahmet Gurbanov and Asad Majid Khan discussed the development potential of the region and confirmed their shared commitment to promoting the goals of the ECO and strengthening regional cooperation in the coming year.
The Secretary General of the international organization noted Turkmenistan’s growing role in the ECO and expressed satisfaction with the country’s hosting of several significant regional and international events. Asad Majid Khan voiced proposals to improve the efficiency of the ECO and called on the Turkmen side to support these initiatives.
