On December 25, the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, participated in an informal summit of the heads of state of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), traditionally held in Moscow ahead of the New Year. The meeting took place at the Ice Palace of the “Igora” Winter Sports Complex.
The parties analyzed the results of the CIS’s activities for the current year, identified priority areas of cooperation, and set tasks for the upcoming period. The participants noted with satisfaction the positive indicators of economic partnership. The heads of state also discussed current issues on the regional and global agenda.
Additionally, Russian President Vladimir Putin invited his CIS colleagues to participate in the celebrations in Moscow in 2025, marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The Russian leader emphasized that during the harsh war years, the Soviet peoples demonstrated heroism and courage both on the front lines and at home, and this immortal feat is revered in the CIS countries.
