Now, Apple Intelligence features are activated by default during the initial setup of devices. Previously, they were disabled, and users had to enable them manually.
AI can be disabled in the settings, under “Apple Intelligence and Siri.” The new feature applies only to compatible devices: iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, and all iPads and Macs with M1 processors and newer.
Apple is following the strategy of Microsoft and Google, actively integrating AI, even despite the beta status of the features. For example, notifications from “News and Entertainment” category apps are temporarily disabled due to bugs.
Besides AI changes, the update includes bug fixes and security improvements.
iPhone 16 users will get “Visual Intelligence,” allowing them to recognize text from images and add events to the calendar. The “Genmoji” feature has been added to Mac.
