The lawsuit remained inactive until Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago after the elections. It is reported that Trump insisted on settling the lawsuit before allowing Zuckerberg into his “inner circle.” Most of the money from the settlement will go towards Trump’s presidential library needs.
Recently, Zuckerberg ended Meta’s fact-checking program, rolled back content moderation policies, and added UFC CEO Dana White, a Trump supporter, to the company’s board of directors.
