Tajikistan and Uzbekistan to Create “Friendship Garden” in Dushanbe

18.02.2025

A “Friendship Garden” will be created in Dushanbe as a symbol of close cooperation between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. The project was initiated during the visit of the Uzbek delegation, headed by the Director of the Agency for the Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex.

As part of the visit, the delegation inspected the allocated land plot in Dushanbe, intended for the establishment of the garden. Following the negotiations, the parties approved a plan for further actions, and practical work began on the same day.

The project includes the implementation of a drip irrigation system, which will ensure the rational use of water resources and optimal conditions for the growth of agricultural crops. Specially selected fruit tree saplings from Uzbekistan, adapted to the local climate, will be delivered to Tajikistan. Additionally, the project will involve comprehensive soil preparation: improving its fertility, applying quality fertilizers, and creating conditions for high yields.

Special attention is given to the infrastructure of the garden, including the development of effective irrigation systems, installation of protective and maintenance mechanisms, landscaping, and the organization of the planting process.

Furthermore, professional support in the form of agronomic consultations and experience exchange between specialists from both countries is provided.
