Apple turned the sneaker emoji into a real pair of shoes

29.11.2024

The emoji is based on the New Balance 574 sneakers worn by Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, but in the Apple version, the New Balance logo is replaced with two parallel stripes. Wong’s version, The Shoe 1, combines design elements of the New Balance 574 and Apple’s “aesthetic.” The sneakers are made of nubuck, mesh for breathability, and a lightweight EVA foam sole.

There is even an imprint of the internal components of an iPhone on the insole.

The minimalist packaging complements the Apple-inspired design: the envelope says “Designed by Josewong in China.” The sneakers are available for purchase online.
