China will launch next-generation satellites for the Beidou navigation system

29.11.2024

By 2029, the program will begin launching next-generation network satellites, with the system’s construction expected to be fully completed by 2035. Currently, Beidou already operates with 30 satellites, providing global positioning, navigation, and timing services. The new system will use satellites in high, medium, and low orbits, which will increase navigation accuracy and reliability to the decimeter level.

The upgraded Beidou system will provide high-precision services for users worldwide and in near-Earth space, including assistance in areas such as transportation, aviation, maritime navigation, as well as agriculture and finance.
