Unlike previous years’ models, Apple will return to aluminum frames, which were used before the iPhone X, abandoning the titanium that debuted in the iPhone 15 Pro.
For wireless charging, the back panel of the smartphones will have a combined design: the upper part made of aluminum and the lower part made of glass.
The camera will have a larger rectangular bump, also made of aluminum, which will be a noticeable difference from the current models that use glass.
The decision to return to aluminum is related to simplifying the construction and potentially reducing weight. It is expected that Apple will also integrate elements of the new design from the ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air into the Pro models, but the thickness of the devices remains in question.
