In our independent country, significant work is being carried out in the construction-industrial complex and the chemical industry to create innovative productions. The construction of state-important highways and the automobile bridge over the Garabogazköl Bay continues. Drinking water purification facilities have been put into operation in the Bagtyýarlyk district of Ashgabat city and the Ýaşlyk settlement of the Ak bugdaý district in Ahal province. The commissioning of these facilities is clear evidence of the successful implementation of our policy to provide the population with clean drinking water.
The trade sector is also one of the leading sectors of our national economy. Products labeled “Made in Turkmenistan” are in high demand in world markets. The volume and directions of goods exported abroad are increasing. Significant reforms are also being carried out to modernize the textile industry. Special attention is paid to developing our people’s world-famous national carpet art.
In the national transport and communication sector, comprehensive reforms aimed at reviving the ancient trade route, the Great Silk Road, are being implemented. Along with this, necessary efforts are being made to activate passenger and freight traffic by all types of transport and fully utilize international transit transport opportunities.
Effective work is being carried out in the education system to comprehensively educate young people with a broad worldview. In this regard, opening and commissioning new buildings of general education institutions, school-gymnasiums, and higher educational institutions that meet international standards are among the important tasks. In the field of science, much work has been done to increase the efficiency of scientific research and new technologies.
Protecting the health of our people and ensuring a happy life is one of the priority areas of Turkmenistan’s state policy. Accordingly, accessible, high-quality medical services that meet world standards are offered to the population. Significant work is also being carried out to develop physical culture and sports, instill healthy lifestyle habits in society, and raise healthy generations. Turkmenistan has become a center for major international and regional competitions.
