On November 27, at the session “Transport Hubs and Corridors as Key Links of the Global Logistics Network” of the ITTC-2024 forum in Ashgabat, Shokirjon Rahmatov, Project Director of the Secretariat of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), spoke. The foreign guest evaluated the role of the Turkmenbashi seaport.
Rahmatov noted that the Turkmenbashi port handles up to 17 million tons of cargo annually. He emphasized that effective cargo management requires a balanced approach to financial aspects and scheduling. In this context, the OTS representative proposed developing transparent and accessible procedures for setting tariffs and rates and improving the quality of logistics services.
The speaker also stressed that the OTS is ready to participate in international infrastructure projects that contribute to the development and strengthening of transport corridors. Rahmatov paid special attention to the Middle Corridor, which should become a fundamental route for cargo transportation between Europe and Asia and contribute to greater efficiency in international trade.
