On November 26, at the conference “International Transport and Transit Corridors: Interconnection and Development” (ITTC-2024) in Ashgabat, TRACECA Secretary General Asset Assavbayev spoke about the importance of modernizing transport infrastructure to enhance the efficiency of international logistics cooperation.
According to Assavbayev, a special role belongs to the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (“Lapis Lazuli Corridor”), which connects Turkmenistan with Azerbaijan, Iran, and Turkey. He emphasized that for the further development of this corridor, it is necessary to strengthen the cooperation of all participating countries in the project.
The TRACECA Secretary General also touched upon the transition to electronic transport documents. Assavbayev stressed that this will contribute to the development of international logistics, and the modernization of multimodal routes and the introduction of modern technologies in the transport sector will unite the regions of Central Asia and the Caspian, strengthening economic ties between the states.
