A delegation from Turkmenistan participated in the 12th regional meeting of National Committees on Trade Facilitation Procedures of Central Asian countries. The event took place in Tashkent. This was reported by the newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan”.
The Turkmen delegation included employees from the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, the Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers, the State Customs Service, the Turkmen Association of International Road Carriers, and the “Turkmen Logistics” Association. There was an exchange of views on topics such as simplifying trade procedures in the Central Asian region, developing the transport sector in the region, digitizing the trade process, and enhancing the role of the private sector in economic and transport-logistics cooperation.
The event also included meetings of working groups on issues such as paperless trade, developing a concept for the development of transport and transit in Central Asia, and implementing digital phytosanitary certificates. Additionally, participants visited one of the customs posts in the Tashkent region to learn about Uzbekistan’s experience in digitizing customs procedures.
