British Ecologists Visit Turkmenistan

Representatives of the British organization Blue marine, Judith Brown and Linas Svolkinas, visited Turkmenistan and met with Turkmen ecologists to discuss issues of preserving the biodiversity of the Caspian Sea. This was reported by the electronic newspaper “Turkmenistan: Golden Age.”

The guests visited the National Institute of Deserts, Flora, and Fauna of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan. The experts acquainted Turkmen specialists with the activities of Blue marine and presented proposals for studying the dynamics of changes in the Caspian Sea level.

Judith Brown and Linas Svolkinas also held talks with the leadership of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan and the Caspian Sea Institute. The Blue marine representatives visited the Balkan region on the Caspian Sea coast, where they toured the National Tourist Zone “Avaza,” the international seaport of Turkmenbashi, the nature museum, and areas of the Hazar State Nature Reserve’s water area.

Following the work carried out, the parties identified directions for further cooperation and planned subsequent activities.
