The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, participated in the 16th meeting of the Council of Elders of the Turkic States Organization (TSO) held in Hungary. Hero-Arkadag put forward a number of proposals aimed at strengthening peace and trust.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow noted that at the initiative of Turkmenistan, the year 2025 has been declared the Year of Peace and Trust by the UN General Assembly, and proposed organizing international events under the auspices of the Council of Elders to promote these principles.
Hero-Arkadag emphasized the importance of public diplomacy through the Council of Elders to strengthen ties between Turkic states and expand international relations. He highlighted the need for extensive coverage of the Council’s public work worldwide through the media, including the establishment of a relevant publication and the creation of a website.
It should be noted that the meeting participants also discussed current issues of further cooperation between the member countries of the Organization, paying close attention to the implementation of the decisions of the previous meeting held in Ashgabat.
