On December 25, as part of his visit to Russia, the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, met with the Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov.
The meeting took place at Pulkovo Airport, where the head of Turkmenistan arrived to participate in an informal meeting of CIS leaders. The parties exchanged views on the state and prospects of Turkmen-Russian cooperation in trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Alexander Beglov noted the importance of the participation of the St. Petersburg company “Vozrozhdenie” in the construction of drainage facilities in Ashgabat, as well as in the creation of road and engineering infrastructure in the republic. In addition, the company “Silovye Mashiny” successfully cooperates with Turkmenistan, and the partnership in the field of education is being strengthened. In 2023 alone, about two thousand Turkmen students studied at universities in St. Petersburg.
