On December 12, Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov held talks in Ashgabat with Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Garib-Abadi. The parties discussed the development of trade and economic relations, particularly in the areas of energy and transport. This was reported by the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
Rashid Meredov and Kazem Garib-Abadi emphasized the importance of the activities of the joint intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation. The diplomats also noted with satisfaction the effectiveness of cooperation within international and regional structures.
Additionally, the interlocutors touched upon current issues on the interstate agenda. The parties also confirmed the development of partnership based on the principles of good neighborliness and mutual respect.
