Turkmenistan Participates in ECO Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting

On December 3rd, Turkmenistan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmet Gurbanov participated in the 28th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO CFMs). The event took place in the Iranian city of Mashhad, according to the press service of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.

In his speech, Ahmet Gurbanov emphasized that the conceptual documents “ECO Vision 2025” and “Ashgabat Consensus for Action” have created a solid platform for adapting to new realities and outlined clear guidelines for joint activities in the near future. In this regard, he presented Turkmenistan’s position on priority areas of cooperation within the ECO, as well as proposals for the ECO development strategy.

The Turkmen diplomat particularly highlighted the importance of developing cooperation in the fields of transport, logistics, and energy. Gurbanov also noted the acceptability of expanding industrial cooperation through the creation of production lines, utilizing the potential of cross-border and regional trade, with a focus on enhancing partnerships in small and medium-sized businesses. He also emphasized the significance of consolidating efforts to ensure food security and combining the efforts of the ECO and the international community to develop constructive models of interstate relations.
