At the same time, 35,000 jobs will be cut. Formally, employees will not be fired, but production capacity will be reduced by 734,000 units per year at five plants in Germany.
The process of employee reduction will extend until 2030: all currently employed staff will continue to work, but the hiring of new specialists will be halted—new hires will only be made to replace those who resign or retire. The intake of trainees will also be reduced.
