Uzbekistan, Tashkent – On the basis of the Bukhara Engineering and Technology Institute and the Bukhara Institute of Natural Resources Management, the Bukhara State Technical University will be created.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the decree on January 24.
The document states that an advanced engineering school in the field of oil and gas engineering will be established at this university.
Starting from the next academic year, an international system for assessing student performance and the effectiveness of the teaching staff will be introduced.
In addition, university teachers and doctoral students will be sent to leading foreign higher educational and research institutions for scientific internships and advanced training.
Large industrial enterprises and organizations will be assigned to the university as industrial partners.
And from January 1, 2026, this higher educational institution will be granted academic, organizational, and financial independence.
Recently, the authorities presented projects for the creation of technical universities in Nukus, Bukhara, Fergana, and Namangan. In total, there will be 22 universities in the republic, created by merging 35 higher educational institutions.
