A former employee of the American company will take the position of president at Hua Hong. Bai worked at Intel for over 30 years, focusing on the development and mass production of logic chips.
Now he will be responsible for advancing the Chinese company in the field of advanced semiconductor manufacturing technologies.
Historically, Hua Hong specialized in analog chips and embedded memory, with most products at 100 nm and above.
However, the company is expanding production, focusing on logic chips and mastering 40 nm processes. New factories in Chengdu and Wuxi are expected to strengthen its market position.
With the support of new leadership, Hua Hong aims to reduce China’s dependence on foreign suppliers.
