As noted in the Bi.Zone report, in the first half of 2024, there was a combination of phone calls and messages, but in the second half, scammers shifted their focus to calls in messengers. According to analysts, this trend will intensify in 2025.
“This is due to the fact that the state and telecom operators are actively fighting phone fraud by blocking malicious numbers. However, effective protection mechanisms have not yet been developed for messengers,” the report says.
