The authorities of Tajikistan continue the large-scale modernization of the energy system aimed at achieving energy independence and the efficient use of renewable energy sources. The implementation of 18 major state projects is planned. Their total cost is $1.7 billion, as reported by AVESTA.
Among the priority projects are the construction and reconstruction of power plants, electrification of rural areas, and modernization of infrastructure to reduce electricity losses. Additionally, billing systems will be implemented, and new power transmission lines will be created.
Last year, President Emomali Rahmon emphasized that Tajikistan continues to work actively towards achieving energy independence. He noted that the country’s main task now is to efficiently use all available resources, including renewable energy sources.
