Turkmenistan plans to achieve zero growth in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. The republic has joined the Global Methane Pledge, adopting global experience in this direction. This was reported by the information agency “Turkmenistan: Golden Age.”
Among the main aspects of the national strategy are the effective use of the vast potential of the oil and gas industry, strengthening its position in the global market considering the demand for high-quality competitive environmentally friendly products, the introduction of energy-saving technologies, the use and development of renewable energy sources, and establishing business contacts with leading companies and financial structures in this field.
The republic also attaches great importance to direct participation in the activities of the MARS digital platform, created within the framework of the UN Environment Program.
In addition, the country pays special attention to the training of highly qualified personnel for the oil and gas industry, increasing scientific potential, and the role of research and experimental design work in the development of the complex.
