In honor of the holy month of Ramadan, grand celebrations were held in Egypt’s capital, Cairo, featuring a festive table that stretched across 20 streets in the Al-Matariya district.
This tradition began 13 years ago in the Al-Matariya district. The tables are set for Iftar – the meal eaten after sunset.
An atmosphere of general celebration reigned on the streets of the city, where residents exchanged congratulations to the sounds of music. Foreign guests were warmly invited to share the meal. All the dishes on the table were prepared by local residents.
The festive event was attended by approximately 50 thousand people.
