On April 23, 2025, during the working visit to Georgia, meeting of delegation of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan has held with members of the group led by the David Matikashvili, the Chairperson of the Georgia-Turkmenistan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group.
Thanks to the efforts of the Heads of State of Turkmenistan and Georgia, cooperation between the two countries actively developed, including the creation of new opportunities for effective relations to parliamentary direction has noted during the meeting.
The Turkmen side introduced the priorities of our country’s domestic and foreign policy, the composition of the national Parliament, and the works done to legislation procurement of the large-scale socio-economic reforms implemented in various spheres.
During the conversation, has emphasized inter-parliamentary dialogue has become an important part of strengthening cooperation between the two countries, and inter-parliamentary friendship groups established on a bilateral basis are expanding opportunities for exchanging experiences in legislative work and developing parliamentary diplomacy.
The advancement of the work of inter-parliamentary friendship groups would give impulse opening the way for the development of bilateral and multilateral partnerships in the future also mentioned.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to continue exchanging experience in the legislation system.
