During a working visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan, a delegation led by the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan met with the Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, Martin Chungong.
During the meeting, the importance of the adoption of the UN General Assembly Resolutions initiated by Turkmenistan — “2025 – The Year of International Peace and Trust,” “On the Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan,” and other initiatives put forward by our country to ensure peace and security throughout the world — was emphasized.
The Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, D. Gulmanova, invited the Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union to participate in international events, including parliamentary forums, to be held in the country on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan, declared in 2025 as the Year of International Peace and Trust.
The meeting also discussed the activities of the Turkmen delegation on issues on the agenda of the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, national experiences, and the proposals put forward. Issues related to expanding cooperation between the Mejlis of Turkmenistan and the Inter-Parliamentary Union in the future were also discussed.
