According to the analytics firm Alinea Analytics, some Xbox titles have already sold in substantial numbers on Sony consoles.
For example, Sea of Thieves has been purchased 1.8 million times, while the cooperative survival simulator Grounded has sold 436,500 copies. Other games had more modest sales: Hi-Fi Rush with 137,300 copies, Age of Mythology Retold with 41,000, and Pentiment with just 14,000.
For comparison: Sea of Thieves has sold more than 13 million copies on Steam alone, showcasing the strength of Valve’s platform.
Nevertheless, Microsoft will continue its push for multiplatform releases. According to PS Store data, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Forza Horizon 5 will arrive on PS5 in April, generating strong interest among PlayStation users.
