Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan — within the framework of the 150th Anniversary Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, a bilateral meeting was held between the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, D. Gulmanova, and the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Natalya Kochanova.
During the meeting, the parties reaffirmed the strategic significance of Turkmen-Belarusian interstate cooperation, which continues to develop dynamically under the leadership of the Esteemed President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the Estemeed President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko.
The sides also underscored the policy vision of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who consistently advocates for strengthening parliamentary diplomacy as a key instrument for enhancing bilateral and multilateral relations. In this context, his international initiative “Dialogue is a Guarantee of Peace” was noted as a substantive and timely contribution to fostering global peace, mutual trust, and the consolidation of friendly and fraternal relations between nations.
Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, D.Gulmanova, extended a formal invitation to Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Natalya Kochanova, to participate in the upcoming international events to be held in Turkmenistan in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the country’s status of Permanent Neutrality, which will be celebrated in 2025 — the Year of International Peace and Trust.
