According to insider reports, other Chinese brands have joined the race for record-breaking battery life. HONOR, for instance, is preparing a mid-range model with the same battery capacity.
The rapid increase in battery size has been made possible by silicon-carbon anode technology. Silicon stores ten times more lithium ions than graphite, making batteries more compact and efficient.
Beyond the battery, HONOR’s new model will feature powerful stereo speakers and a Snapdragon 7-series chip. The release date is still unknown, but it’s clear that 8000 mAh is becoming the new normal even for budget smartphones.
Among major manufacturers, Samsung might be the first to adopt this technology in its Galaxy S26 series. Apple, on the other hand, remains cautious.
