Google добавила в функцию обнаружения устройств поддержку спутниковой геолокации

Google has added satellite geolocation support to its device-finding feature.

14.05.2025

Google has renamed its device tracking function, previously known as Google Find My Device, to Find Hub, reflecting expanded technology capabilities.

The feature has received a significant update, becoming “a more comprehensive solution” that includes tracking devices, people, and items. Support for Ultra WideBand (UWB) wireless data transmission, satellite connectivity for precise geolocation, and third-party location tags has been introduced—making the service competitive with Apple’s Find My Network, according to insider reports from PhoneArena.

The renaming of the technology to Find Hub “reflects Google’s ambition to centralize location tracking for all devices, not just Android.” Expanding the platform with Bluetooth tags that support UWB and satellite connectivity is expected to improve item tracking accuracy and enable location sharing in areas without mobile signal—something particularly useful for travelers and hikers.
