Analysts predict that the new iPhone 17 Air might follow the path of unsuccessful models like iPhone Mini and iPhone Plus.
The device’s main feature is its ultra-thin design, rumored to measure just 5.4mm thick. This is slimmer than the recently released Galaxy S25 Edge (5.8mm) and nearly twice as thin as Apple’s current flagship models.
However, to achieve this compactness, Apple will likely need to make compromises—primarily with the battery capacity, which may be significantly reduced due to limited space.
Apple is expected to compensate for this with software enhancements in iOS 19, utilizing AI-powered energy optimization.
Additionally, iPhone 17 Air may lose extra cameras. According to leaks, the device could feature only one 48 MP primary module, similar to the more affordable iPhone 16e. If the price remains on par with Plus models, it might deter potential buyers who prioritize camera quality and battery life.
