Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan have reached new agreements regarding resort facilities and land leases in the Issyk-Kul region. Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov signed the law, which will take effect 10 days after its official publication.
The agreement consists of two protocols signed by representatives of both countries in December 2024 in Bishkek. The first protocol defines Kazakhstan’s rights over resort properties in the region, while the second regulates land lease conditions in the Issyk-Kul district.
These new agreements aim to boost tourism development in the region and strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries.
