On May 8, 2025, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, had a telephone conversation with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov.
The Ministers exchanged views on current issues related to the enhancement of cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the current agenda. The Ministers expressed their confidence that the traditional friendship and brotherly ties, which have historically bound of two nations, will continue to develop further based on a partnership between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan.
The significance of political dialogue at the level of heads of state, the mutual exchange of visits, as well as ongoing consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, was emphasised as a key factor in the advancement of bilateral relations between the countries.
The Ministers also discussed issues related to regional security, cooperation within international organisations, and the Caspian Sea.
Throughout the telephone conversation, they exchanged perspectives on various other bilateral and multilateral issues of mutual interest.
