On May 7, the first finalist of the Champions League was determined—Italian club Inter secured a dramatic victory against Spanish Barcelona (4-3, 7-6 on aggregate) to reach the final.
After the final whistle confirmed Barcelona’s elimination, one of the best players of the match, Lamine Yamal, couldn’t hold back his tears and collapsed onto the field.
Inter player Marcus Thuram approached the 17-year-old winger to console him. Yamal, lying on the ground, was helped up by teammates, but he struggled to accept the defeat.
In this match, Hans-Dieter Flick’s side put six goals past their opponents, but it wasn’t enough to secure a place in the final. Barcelona will now focus on their domestic league, where they currently sit in first place.
