As previously reported, the international chess tournament in Ashgabat has successfully concluded. Based on the total points earned by the participating players, the young, talented boys and girls representing Turkmenistan achieved remarkable results.
In the rapid chess competition among players aged 8, 10, and 12, Turkmenistan secured 3 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze medals, totaling 10, and earned first place overall.

From June 15–19, 2025, the international chess tournament held at the Specialized Chess and Checkers School in Ashgabat featured both RAPID and BLITZ formats. Turkmen players won 7 gold, 6 silver, and 6 bronze medals, bringing the total to 19 medals, and officially clinched first place in the overall medal tally.

Uzbekistan took second place with 4 gold and 3 silver medals (7 total), while Kazakhstan claimed third place with 1 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze medals (also 7 total).
For context, Turkmenistan fielded 81 players (41 boys and 40 girls) as the host country. The tournament was organized by Turkmenistan’s Chess Federation and the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports as part of events celebrating Ashgabat’s designation as the “New City of Sports Opportunities of the Commonwealth.”
