Microsoft CEO, Satia Valel, admitted that mass dismissals in the company were very touched on. This year, Microsoft reduced almost 15,000 employees to focus on investments in artificial intelligence (AI).
In a letter to the employees of Nadalla called the dismissal a difficult, but necessary step. He noted that such changes create calls, but also open up opportunities for a new beginning and improve leadership in the company.
In June 2024, about 228,000 people worked in the company. Recently, Microsoft announced plans to dismiss about 9,000 employees.
Valela urged employees to focus on the company’s mission – to help people and organizations achieve more thanks to AI.
Analysts note that such dismissals are currently taking place in many technological companies due to the growing influence of AI.
