The Forza Horizon 5 racing game, which was previously exclusive Xbox, became the best -selling new game at the PlayStation 5 for the first half of 2025.
According to the ALINEA ANALYTICS report, on the Sony platform, it dispersed 3 million copies – more than the Astro Bot, recognized as one of the best games of 2024.
In second place is the Monster Hunter Wilds from Capcom (2.9 million copies), in the third – Assassin’s Creed Shadows (2 million). Also, Elden Ring Nightreign (1.4 million) and the unexpectedly successful Clair Obscur: Expections 33 (1.3 million), from which no one expected, became a real hit.
Forza Horizon 5 sales on PS5 clearly show why Microsoft began to release its titles on competing platforms. Such a step brings the company additional profit and expands the audience coverage.
The report also mentions Death Stranding 2 – the game from Hideo Kojima in 25 days dispersed of a circulation of 1 million copies.
