In the Moscow hospital named after Davydovsky, a new system with artificial intelligence (AI), created to diagnose strokes, is being tested. Development helps doctors analyze the pictures of KT and MRI, determine the need for surgery and choose the optimal treatment tactics.
According to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the system integrates into the digital infrastructure of the hospital and serves as auxiliary instrument for doctors. AI processes medical images, evaluates risks and reduces the likelihood of errors, but the final decision always remains with the doctor.
Development was created in conjunction with the Moscow Innovation Company with the support of the city program “Medtekh”. Testing takes place in the stroke center of the Davydovsky hospital. If the tests confirm the effectiveness of the system, it can be introduced in all specialized medical institutions of the capital.
According to Sobyanin, the technology is especially useful for ischemic strokes, when it is important to quickly make a decision on surgical intervention. The system does not replace doctors, but helps them more quickly evaluate complex cases and reduce risks in the treatment of patients.
