Intel is close to launching the mass production of Panther Lake processors on the new Intel 18A process.
According to the leakage that appeared on the Thelayoff forum, the output of suitable chips has already reached 70%. Information was confirmed by sources from Asia.
These data were published by the allegedly dismissed employee of Intel. He clarified that 70% is the output of the standard quality chips, from which the best crystals for the top versions of Core Ultra 9 will later be taken out. The mass production process should start in the II half of 2025.
Intel 18A is considered a key technology for the company – this is the final stage of transition to many -year Ribbonfet technology with feeding on the reverse side. The final versions of the chips are already undergoing frequency and energy parameters.
At the same time, competitors are not behind: AMD is preparing Zen 6 based on the TSMC N2P process process, which will officially replace N2 and provide an increase of up to 18% compared to 3-nm solutions.
