Nintendo set a new record with the game Donkey Kong Bananza: the start of sales was three times more powerful compared to the previous part of the series – Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.
This was announced by the head of the Game Business publication, Christopher Dring, noting that Bananza headed the British chart of physical copies on his debut week. However, despite the success, the start of Bananza turned out to be less than half of the Super Mario Odyssey.
The game was released only a few days ago, so so far it is only about physical sales in the UK. At the same time, it is Nintendo fans who traditionally buy games in boxes, which retains the relevance of physical circulations for the Japanese company.
Critics and players unanimously call Donkey Kong Bananza one of the best releases of 2025.
In his review, the WCCFTECH editor evaluated the project at 9 out of 10, emphasizing that Bananza is the most large-scale and ambitious Nintendo 3D platform, inspired by Super Mario Odyssey, but at the same time offering a more crazy and diverse game experience.
