Panasonic study: companies want to switch to Windows 11, but are afraid of expenses and failures in work

24.07.2025

The new Panasonic study showed that companies want to switch to Windows 11, but they fear costs and risks.

About 62% of devices in organizations need replacement or updating for compatibility with the new OS. In large companies (over 5,000 employees), this figure reaches 76%.

Despite difficulties, the business recognizes the advantages of Windows 11. Among them are the best performance, modern infrastructure and access to AI tools like Microsoft Copilot.

But the transition process is accompanied by a number of fears: 94% are afraid of the growth of threats from viruses and encryptions, 93% – data leaks. In addition, companies are concerned about high costs for migration – two -thirds of the respondents stated this.

About half of the participants noted problems with software compatibility (47%) and downtime risks (45%). And for a quarter of companies, updating equipment requires a parallel replacement of programs, which additionally increases expenses.
