Soon, Pixel Watch owners will be able to manually start backup, as can already be done on Android smartphones. Now, in order to create a backup copy on smart watches from Google, the device must be connected to Wi-Fi and stand on charging. At the same time, the process starts automatically, and it cannot be launched manually.
Now, in the code of the new update of Google Play Services (version 25.28.34 for Wear OS), a new function has been mentioned – the “Create a backup” button. This function, apparently, will be available only on Pixel Watch. Other watches with Wear OS, such as Samsung Galaxy Watch or OnePlus Watch, use their own backup systems through branded applications.
If the function still appears, this will save users from unnecessary restrictions while maintaining data.
