Roscosmos plans to develop and test the prototype of the returning launch vehicle for one and a half to two years for one and a half to two years. As explained by the head of the state corporation Dmitry Bakanov, the technical task for the project called “Kuznechik” was approved in June 2025.
The program is included in the national project for the development of the space industry. According to Bakanov, specialists need time for high -quality development of technology. Although the first tests could be previously, this would not guarantee the necessary result.
The head of Roscosmos conducted an analogy with air transportation, where multiple use of aircraft makes flights more accessible. Also in the astronautics: the re -use of rocket steps, as SpaceX does, can significantly reduce the cost of launches.
