Rostransnadzor plans to use artificial intelligence (AI) to verify theoretical knowledge of the driver before issuing certificates for the right to drive railway transport. This was announced by the head of the department, Viktor Gulin, at a meeting with Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
The new testing format will become part of the digital transformation of Rostransnadzor. On September 1, the updated procedure for issuing certificates will enter into force, which includes a new category – “high -speed railway rolling stock”. The first checks in this category are scheduled for September 3, and by the end of the year, about 200 drivers will be certified.
The initiative is associated with the implementation of the construction project of the high-speed highway Moscow-St. Petersburg, which is supervised on behalf of President Vladimir Putin. The remote format using AI will simplify the procedure for testing knowledge, while maintaining its objectivity.
