The TeA application, allowing women to anonymously evaluate and leave reviews about men, has recently become very popular – it took first place in the App Store and got the attention of the media. But shortly after this, a data leak occurred.
According to 404 Media, users from the 4Chan forum have found an open TEA database on the Google Firebase platform. Personal data and photographs were stored there, including selfies, which women sent to verify the account. Some of these materials, according to rumors, have already been on the Internet.
Tea representatives confirmed the fact of hacking and said that the leak affected about 72,000 images, including 13,000 selfies and documents sent more than two years ago, as well as 59,000 photos from posts, comments and personal messages.
The company said that the current data of users, according to their information, were not injured. At the same time, flowing images were originally stored to fulfill the requirements for the prevention of cyberbulling.
